ROSE Surgery

A Second Chance for Gulf Coast Gastric Bypass Patients with Restorative Obesity Surgery Endoscopic (ROSE) Incisionless Surgery

Gradual weight regain following successful gastric bypass surgery can be a devastating situation for some people. In some cases, diet and nutritional counseling is all that is needed to get you back on track. However, over the years since your gastric bypass procedure, your stomach pouch and stoma may have stretched allowing you to eat more before feeling full and causing you to slowly regain weight.

Now Gulf Coast gastric bypass patients have a new option for restoring the size of the stomach pouch and stoma without the need for any incisions. The Restorative Obesity Surgery Endoscopic, or ROSE procedure is a new incisionless surgery that allows Dr. Bass to reduce the volume of the stomach pouch and reduce the diameter of the stoma without abdominal incisions.

Using specially designed surgical instruments, the ROSE procedure is performed through the mouth while the patient is asleep under general anesthesia.

Because there are no incisions, Gulf Coast Bariatric’s ROSE procedure can be performed with less risk to the patient than conventional surgery and results in minimal post-operative discomfort, reduced recovery time following the procedure, and no scarring because there are no skin incisions.

If you are a gastric bypass patient and have noticed your weight is beginning to increase or you are not feeling full without eating larger amounts of food, you may be a candidate for the incisionless ROSE procedure.
