If you live in the St. Petersburg area there are some great places around where you can head out for a walk. Try one of these spots:
Vinoy Park to Flora Wylie Park Greenway: This is an urban hike, but it has a nice view of the water along Tampa Bay. The surface here is paved, and it is a popular place to get out for some fresh air, so you won’t be alone on this hike. This is a perfect walking spot for those who live in the area and don’t have time to head out to a park or nature preserve.
War Veterans Memorial Park Trail: The view here includes a war memorial, mangroves, marsh areas and a host of lovely trees. Most of the trail here is paved, making it a nice walk for beginners, but anyone can head out to this park for a quick spin.
Sawgrass Lake Park Trail: This is an environmental education area, and it offers three short paths that are close to Sawgrass Lake-the perfect spot for a little break to take in the scenery. Not all of the paths here are paved, but it makes a nice hiking spot if you come prepared with good shoes.
